In December of 2013, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z went vegan for 22 days. The change made them feel so great, Beyonce became committed to sharing her secret with the world.

Beyonce 22 Day Diet Vegan Review

A few years later, the singer partnered with her trainer, bestselling author and exercise physiologist Marco Borges to create an organic, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free meal delivery service called 22 Days Nutrition. Read on to find out more about the diet and how effective it can be.

What is the 22 Days Nutrition Meal Plan?

The 22 Day Diet is based on the concept that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Therefore, on the 22nd day, you should already be starting to integrate a healthier diet into your routine.

The meals that the diet offers are all fresh, organic, soy-free, gluten free and vegan. In accordance with traditional vegan diets, there is an emphasis on whole grains, nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables and legumes. Supplemental vegan bars and plant protein power are also available on the diet website and recommended as dietary supplements.

The 22 Days plan provides dieters with online quiz that helps them customize a diet that suits their needs. Meal plans are based on goals, health requirements and food preferences. There are thousands of recipes available.

The diet provides a 22 Days starter kit that includes the bars, the protein powder, a recipe book and a shopping list.

Although the diet promotes a strict vegan diet, there is some wiggle room, especially for those who can’t realistically stick to the diet. It also allows users to make changes to suit their lifestyle once they have completed the diet.

If you stick to Borges’ plan breakdown, you come up with a diet that is 10% fat, 10% protein and 80% healthy carbohydrates.

What are the Meal Plans Like?

The 22 Days Diet gives you a variety of meal plans to choose from. These include the following:

  • One vegan meal a day
  • Two vegan meals a day
  • Three vegan meals a day

You can choose their same day grocery delivery option or get your groceries delivered through Amazon Fresh, Instacart or Peapod.

Does the 22 Days Diet Work?

The 22 Days Diet is effective in that staying on the healthy, low calorie will help you lose weight. However, sustainability could be an issue.

If you are not used to being on a vegetarian diet, you may miss the foods that aren’t included on the menu. Feelings of deprivation can cause you to go off the diet. Dieters have claimed that it was a struggle to stick to the diet but by the end of the 22 days they found their stride.

Overall, this diet is recommended for those who have already gone vegan and are looking to go vegan for health or moral reasons. So, what do you think? Are you ready to make the change?
